Our Patterns & Material:
All of our awesome patterns are available ONLY through Goober Dog Collars. Thats right, you won’t find these exclusive patterns anywhere else! Lots of care goes into our designs to make sure they’re bright, fun and look great in all sizes. Our patterns are custom designed for us by local artists.
Our material is custom printed just for us right here in Canada. Our patterns are sublimated on 100% Polyester Taslan. This colourfast printing method produces vibrant colours that wont bleed or run even when wet, and are resistant to fading. When dry, water beads up and rolls right off of the surface and when submerged in water, our collars are very fast drying. Widely used in the sporting, outdoor and swimwear industry, our performance polyester is water resistant, fast drying and breathable.
On the inside, we use a super strong polypropylene webbing, widely used in marine applications because unlike nylon, polypropylene does not absorb water. This means our webbing remains strong when wet with minimal stretching. As an added bonus, polypropylene is also lighter weight than nylon and is mildew resistant (translates to: less wet dog stank!).
Our Hardware:
Not all hardware is created equal, and we use the best in the business!
Custom made just for us, our triangle D-rings are made from marine grade 316 stainless steel and welded at the joint for superior strength. 316 stainless is an industry standard material, and performs particularly well in salt water applications vs. typical 304 stainless. Our D-rings are heavy duty, low profile and due to their unique shape, they resist unwanted rotation common with the typical “D” shape… and they look awesome!
Our heavy duty buckles and tri-glides are molded from Delrin ® by Du Pont™. Unlike nylon buckles, Delrin ® is virtually unaffected by relative humidity… this means your dogs collar will perform equally as well at the beach as it does in drier, less demanding environments. When compared to most other polyacetal resins, Delrin ® is not only the stiffest and strongest on the market, but offers a 30% higher breaking point, and 40% higher impact resistance… particularly in cold weather (We’re talking to you Canada!).
Our buckles and tri-glides are made in America by National Molding, a company that supplies hardware to countless high performance industries and is trusted by both the US and Canadian Military!
Our Rope Leashes:
Our rope leashes are made with half inch (0.5") diameter, water resistant MFP polypropylene rope and are available in a variety of colours. Our rope is braided just for us right here in the Maritimes. MFP is incredibly strong, yet light weight and soft. The half inch diameter is nice and chunky and has a great ergonomic hand feel. The leashes all feature a highly reflective tracer for added visibility at night time. Every piece of hardware on these leashes from the lobster leash clips, to the rope clamps, right down to the poo bag holder ring is custom made from marine grade 316 stainless steel which is extremely heavy duty and offers excellent corrosion resistance, even in salt water! All of these awesome features make them perfect for more than just the beach, they will stand up to your city, forest and mountain adventures too!
PET Line:
Polyethylene terephthalate, also called PET, is the name of a type of clear, strong, lightweight and 100% recyclable plastic. Unlike other types of plastic, PET plastic is not single-use, it is 100% recyclable, versatile, and made to be remade.
Our PET webbing is woven and printed in Germany, made from 100% recycled PET plastic that is OEKO-TEX certified.
All of our collar hardware is the same as our classic line, with the addition of a plastic strap keeper for the adjustment loop.
Our leash clips are supplied by a Canadian company and have a rust-resistant nickel-plated finish.
A great option for the eco-conscious customer. Printing directly on the webbing allows for the option of having a matching collar and leash set.
